Description | This course aims to introduce researchers at all levels to a selection of methodological issues that most commonly arise when undertaking research with older adults. The day will consider both practical and ethical best practice in relation to data collection with older adults with dementia, with those living in a care home and with older adults living in other countries. Additionally the day will introduce the availability and opportunities in using secondary data sources to study older populations, including panel surveys. The course covers:

This course would be appropriate for a wide-ranging audience of those with an interest in gerontology, health and social care more generally. It is suitable for academics at all levels as well as government and charity researchers.

Cost | The fee per teaching day is: • £30 per day for UK/EU registered students • £60 per day for staff at UK/EU academic institutions, UK/EU Research Councils researchers, UK/EU public sector staff and staff at UK/EU registered charity organisations and recognised UK/EU research institutions. • £220 per day for all other participants All fees include event materials, lunch, morning and afternoon tea. They do not include travel and accommodation costs. |
